Abstract
Introduction: The unbridled development of urbanization has disrupted social and environmental balances and consequently the emergence of informal settlements. According to estimates of international organizations active in the field of human settlement, about one billion people of the world now live in slums and urban margins or as informal settlements, and today, after decades of planning and policy efforts, informal settlements are still one of the main concerns of urban management. many of the inefficiencies of urban management, especially in developing countries, are caused by weak institutional-organizational synergy. which leads to the increase of urban challenges and the lack of response of urban management to many issues such as poverty, unemployment, social anomalies, marginalization. In this regard,
Objectives: the current research was conducted with the aim of explaining the state of urban synergistic management in revitalizing the marginal areas of Kerman city.
Methodology: According to the purpose of the research and the components under study, the type of research is applied and its method is descriptive. The theoretical data were prepared by documentary method and the empirical data were prepared by survey method based on a questionnaire. The city of Kerman has four informal settlement areas, and the statistical population of this study is the population of these areas and the statistical population of these areas is 160 people who were selected to answer the questionnaire questions based on random sampling.
Geographical Context The geographical scope of this research is the four informal settlements of Sayad Shirazi, Bani Hashem, Industrial town and Pedar town in Kerman city.
Results: The results of the sample T-Tech test showed that the average components of urban synergistic management (institutional building capacity, institutional participation and participation in institutional efforts, capacity and institutional arrangements) are lower than the average and are in an unfavorable condition.
Conclusion: Also, the results of the analysis of variance showed that the status of the components of institutional building capacity, institutional participation and participation in institutional efforts are the same in the 4 investigated neighborhoods. However, the condition of the component of capacity and institutional arrangements is not the same in the 4 investigated neighborhoods, and the average capacity and institutional arrangements in Bani Hashem neighborhood is higher than other neighborhoods and has a better situation in this neighborhood.
