Abstract

Water resources and the distribution of surface and running water networks and dams have long played an important role in the formation and distribution of villages. Explaining the fields of using the factors and elements of the natural environment is the practical purpose of the present study and the research method is descriptive-analytical. Data collection has been done through two methods: documentary and field. The research area is 97 villages of Shaft city, which according to the general census of 2016, had 14165 households. In fact, rivers as one of the influential natural factors, in addition to water supply, shape and cover of unevenness, have also been effective in determining the location of villages and their physical texture. A noteworthy point is the formation of 48 villages less than 500 meters from the rivers and waterways of Shaft city. 31 villages of Jirdeh village with 45 dams and 18.08% of forests and 20% of rainfed and irrigated lands are the most developed in terms of water resources and 15 villages of Molasra village with 11 dams and less than 2% of forests and 8% of rainfed and irrigated lands They are the most underdeveloped in terms of water resources.
