Abstract

Introduction
Given that half of the country's population are women, to achieve economic development, women need to participate in the development process like men and benefit from its results. But this is important in many ways in the development process. The present article examines the strategies to increase women's participation in the rural economy of Shaft city.
Methodology
Analytical and descriptive research method and collecting the required information and data in a documentary and field method using a questionnaire. In this study, using the SWOT analytical matrix, the optimal strategies to increase women's participation in the rural economy were identified.
Geographical area of research
This research has also been done on the villages of Shaft city located in Guilan province.
Results and discussion
The results show that in order to increase women's participation in the villages of this city, an aggressive strategy (SO) or maximum-maximum should be used. Also, the most important strategy to increase women's participation among the 8 strategies set in the villages of this city, the strategy of "determining and holding training courses to gain skills and strengthen women's self-confidence to start manufacturing and service businesses in rural areas" with an attractive score 5.19 was determined, and other strategies were ranked next with attractiveness scores of 5.08, 5.04, 4.83, 4.82, 4.73, 4.68 and 4.49, respectively.
Conclusion
Therefore, by considering the cases identified in different approaches, the participation of women in the rural economy of the villages of this city can be increased.
