Abstract
Abstract
The shared experience of metropolitan management in the world shows that the traditional methods that were limited to managing the city's physical and public service changes, did not respond to the today needs of metropolises, and this is an urgent need for a new approaches. At that time, the decision of the city administration to exploit the knowledge-based approach to management is inevitable, and intelligence and immediate access to accurate, comprehensive and appropriate information is an essential part of this approach.
In this regard, the development and application of spatial analysis in urban studies has been improved over the past decade. In some studies, that the volume of data is high and their distribution and / or dispersion are more complex in space, the use of spatial analysis instead of statistical analyzes, can help to increase the accuracy of the results.
So, this research in the context of applied research seeks to elaborate an experience regarding the method of applying spatial data and related analysis in one of the largest social researches in the municipality of Tehran. The results of the use of GIS in the quality of life assessment project, having the necessary credentials for predicting the quality of life variables, have been able to show with the overlapping of the information layers the level of matching the objective and subjective dimensions of the quality of life of the Tehranian citizens, thus making a great step In the application of social analysis for urban management decision makers.
