Explaining the role of Qeshm Island ecotourism in empowerment of rural women

Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this research is to investigate the role of ecotourism and the capacities of Qeshm Geopark in the direction of economic, social and psychological empowerment of rural women. Methodology: The governing process of this research is descriptive-analytical in terms of its purpose and the type of method. The statistical population of the research is 31 experts and officials of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, Geopark and Women's Affairs and 365 women entrepreneurs of Qeshm and active in the field of tourism. T-tests were used to analyze statistical data, and ANOVA tests were used to compare and analyze the components obtained in different dimensions of empowerment.

Geographical Context: The geographical territory of the research is active villages in the field of ecotourism and Qeshm Island Geopark.

Results: The findings show that the dimensions of social empowerment, environmental physical factors and psychological empowerment are at a more suitable level with the averages of 2.7900, 2.8123 and 2.8427 respectively, and the dimensions of cultural factors and political factors are respectively With averages of 2.2077, 2.359 with the lowest score, they have an inappropriate level. Other dimensions of economic empowerment, economic factors, educational factors and entrepreneurship are in the middle level according to the obtained averages.

Conclusion: The results indicate that participation in village social activities such as cooperatives has empowered women in the social dimension, and of course the effect of this social empowerment has led to the empowerment of Qeshm women in the economic dimension as well. Meanwhile, the role of educational factors that lead to continued education and entrepreneurship of women cannot be ignored. Although the social and economic empowerment of Qeshm women is still not at a favorable stage and sometimes it is lower than the average level, but with increasing awareness towards the empowerment of women in the psychological dimension, the empowerment of women in the social and economic dimensions will definitely be strengthened.
