Participation Concept Validity in Rural Management

Abstract
Introduction: The concept of participation has been explained and expanded among the researchers and scholars of development study, and many of  practitionars  suggest scientific and practical  solutions in order to encourage and promote participation. Rural development studies, has been applying the concept of rural participation by measuring people participation in rural areas, which can evalute the progress of rural development management.
Objectives: To use this concept and operationalize the theoretical concept of participation in the research, researchers need to define variables and items in valid questionnaires. These variables and items can be used to measure the concept of people participation in rural areas by researchers.  Although a lot of studies have been done in rural areas about the issue, researchers do not have a clear and acceptable tool which is approved and validated by development scholars.
Methodology: The research is an applied study with a qualitative methodology, which aims to achieve a valid research tool including targeted, clear and explicit questions according to the respondents’ opinion for the concept of rural participation.
Result and Discussion: 20 items related to participation have been evaluated by 40 academic experts in executive organizations.  Calculating CVI and CVR for each item determines in what extent these phrases identify the concept of rural participation. Finally, among 20 items 15 of them identified as valid ones.
Conclusion: The explanatory items of the concept of participation in the rural area have a thematic variety.
