Abstract
Introduction: The distribution of urban services is carried out to serve citizens and provide optimal access; if it is not based on correct criteria, neither will service delivery be easy nor will distribution across the city be balanced.
Purpose: To examine the distribution of urban services in the districts of District 6 of Tehran, assess their fairness and accessibility, and determine the facilities needed to address this problem.
Geographical area: The study area in this research is the districts of District 6 of Tehran.
Methodology: To achieve the research objectives, 7 indicators were used: socio-economic, cultural-educational, physical-land use, urban facilities and equipment, access, and environmental. The research method is descriptive-analytical. Primary data were collected through the documentary method (library research), and statistical data were obtained from Tehran Municipality. The TOPSIS model, SPSS, and Excel were used to analyze the data.
Results and Discussion: The analysis of the examined indicators reveals inequality and differences in some indicators among the various districts of District 6 of Tehran. The greatest inequality is in the cultural-educational indicator, and the least inequality is in the environmental indicators.
Conclusion: The results showed that District 1 of District 6 has the highest and District 4 the lowest access to urban facilities and services; this indicates a lack of spatial justice distribution in this area.
